Kanneberg Custom Kitchens was founded in 1965 by Roger Kanneberg in a rented building on Railroad Avenue. With only some tools, ideas, skill and determination, Roger pursued his dream of building custom cabinetry for new construction and remodeling. After long hours and hard work, the company grew and prospered, allowing Roger to move his shop to a larger building and continue to expand.

Kanneberg Custom Kitchens is now an established company in Rockford, and serving the surrounding area. Having designed, built, and installed cabinets in over 10,000 homes, working with many of the local contractors, and builders, the company also works in the Chicago suburbs.

In 1978, Fred Cook signed on as a custom door builder. Learning from Roger, and using his own talents, Fred soon became a valued and important part of the company, building and installing complete cabinet systems. Fred has experience in every aspect of the cabinet trade, designing, building, finishing, and installing beautiful custom woodwork.

Fred became a partner in 1994 and now works with Toby Kanneberg, Roger’s son, who joined the company in 1998. Fred was asked to partner with Roger. Since then, the company has grown by leaps and bounds.

Together with the KCK employees, they have built and installed, thousands of custom kitchens, vanities, mantles, surrounds, bars, and bookcases
